New construction industry alliance to foster economic recovery launched in Liverpool

A NEW alliance putting the construction and engineering sectors at the heart of the region’s economic recovery is being launched in Liverpool.

The North West Construction Industry Alliance will be inaugurated at the annual debate and dinner of the Civil Engineering Contractors Association at the city’s Crowne Plaza hotel tomorrow.

It comprises six of the UK’s most influential building and engineering bodies, and aims to promote the region’s £9.5bn construction and engineering sector as a trusted adviser in helping deliver the region’s infrastructure projects.

It will include more than 8,000 professionals across the North West region.

Alliance chairman Ian Robinson said: “We’re committed to working with customers and partner organisations like Local Enterprise Partnerships, local authorities and community groups to find the most cost effective ways of delivering the infrastructure and amenities that will assist economic growth and maintain the collective quality of our lives.”
